About the position

The Compensation and Benefits Specialist will manage and administer the company's total rewards programs, focusing on compensation and benefits. This role requires a strong understanding of total rewards principles, excellent analytical skills, and effective communication with employees at all levels. The specialist will contribute to enhancing the patient and family experience through superior performance in service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and administration of the company's compensation programs, including salary structures, bonus plans, and incentive programs.
  • Establish internal job equity by evaluating and assigning appropriate jobs.
  • Establish external compensation equity by participating in and reviewing pay surveys; analyzing pay data.
  • Perform compensation benchmarking for new hires, ensuring internal equity and market competitiveness.
  • Identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement in total rewards programs.
  • Maintain job descriptions and validate job requirements by analyzing jobs, including interviewing knowledgeable persons and observing jobs being performed.
  • Participate in the development of and maintain pay structures by calculating pay grades and ranges.
  • Generate reports and dashboards to track key metrics and provide insights to the Talent Management team and business leaders.
  • Be a resource for employees regarding benefits programs, including health, dental, and vision insurances and retirement plans.
  • Coordinate open enrollment processes and provide support to employees with benefits-related inquiries.
  • Partner with benefits providers to resolve issues.
  • Comply with Federal, State, and local legal requirements to avoid legal challenges.
  • Lead and support Talent Management related projects as requested.
  • Monitor labor cost trends and develop/revise labor cost budget annually and as needed.
  • Contribute to the development of communication strategy, policy, and documents relating to compensation programs to ensure alignment with the company's philosophy and values.
  • Drive optimization by being actively engaged in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices in total rewards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred.
  • A certification in Human Resources such as PHR or SHRM-CP is preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of compensation principles and practices required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Human Resources with a focus on compensation, benefits, or total rewards required.
