About the position

OAC Action Construction is seeking an experienced Construction Assistant Project Manager to oversee multiple construction projects in South Florida. The role involves managing subcontractors, ensuring project owner satisfaction, and maintaining financial performance across various construction projects, including commercial and government contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the overall responsibility for project owner satisfaction and project financial performance.
  • Work with field management to generate job specific safety plan for the project.
  • Collaborate with Pre-Construction and Field Supervision to implement contract deliverables, quality testing, and reporting requirements.
  • Assist in prequalifying subcontractors and analyzing bids.
  • Prepare contracts with detailed scopes of work.
  • Coordinate staging, logistics, and phasing plans for projects.
  • Facilitate subcontractor pre-mobilization/startup meetings.
  • Issue and administer subcontracts and purchase orders for multiple trades.
  • Develop, plan, and update overall project schedules.
  • Attend and direct regular job scheduling meetings.
  • Coordinate and track RFIs, RFPs, and Change Orders.
  • Implement and ensure compliance with project quality control plans.
  • Expedite material deliveries according to project schedules.
  • Assist in payment requests and monitor collections.
  • Attend OAC progress meetings and update project management software.
  • Assist in job close-out documentation and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' construction experience.
  • Proficient in Assistant Project Manager duties.
  • Experience managing all aspects of construction projects including architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical.
  • Understanding of financial accounting systems.
  • Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Conflict resolution skills with experience in resolving disputes.
  • Superior organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Willingness to travel and/or relocate as required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of Primavera P6.
