About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate licensed Addiction Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of addiction medicine and behavioral therapy, providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. This role requires a commitment to helping clients achieve recovery through evidence-based practices and personalized treatment plans.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to determine their needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide individual and group counseling sessions utilizing various therapeutic techniques, including behavioral therapy and applied behavior analysis.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and coding standards, including ICD-10 and ICD-9.
• Monitor client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective care.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care for clients, ensuring a holistic approach to treatment.
• Educate clients and their families about addiction, recovery processes, and available resources.
• Stay current on best practices in addiction counseling and participate in ongoing professional development.

Requirements

• A degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is required; relevant certifications in addiction counseling are preferred.
• Experience in clinical counseling or addiction medicine is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• A compassionate approach with a genuine desire to help others overcome addiction challenges.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
