About the position
The Custodial Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitary conditions of office facilities, ensuring a comfortable and orderly environment for employees and visitors. This role involves using effective cleaning techniques and following safety protocols to prevent the spread of infection and odors.
Responsibilities
- Promote sanitary conditions to prevent the spread of infection and odors.
- Provide clean, sanitary, comfortable, and orderly surroundings for employees and the public.
- Demonstrate knowledge and efficient use of cleaning techniques.
- Clean and sanitize all restrooms and kitchen areas.
- Dispose of trash, waste, and other disposable materials daily, with follow-up as needed.
- Damp dust furniture, light fixtures, windowsills, etc.
- Wet mop floors in bathrooms daily.
- Damp mop all corridor floors, meeting rooms, and other areas on a routine schedule.
- Clean air vents weekly.
- Check areas for spills, water, etc., periodically during the day.
- Follow instructions on the use of germicidal solutions for cleaning.
- Plan work schedule for major tasks.
- Maintain a neat and orderly janitors' room and ensure cleaning products and supplies are stocked.
- Wash windows.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
- Detail-oriented and thorough.
- Previous housekeeping experience in industrial surroundings preferred.
- Ability to interact with employees, drivers, and visitors in a professional and polite manner.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must pass a background check.
