About the position

The Data Center White Space Fit Out Project Manager at Align Communications is responsible for overseeing the fit-out of data center spaces for various clients, including REITs and colocation providers. This role involves managing all aspects of project delivery, from initial design to final handover, ensuring that client expectations are met while adhering to budget and schedule constraints. The position requires a blend of technical knowledge in data center infrastructure and strong project management skills, with a focus on collaboration and client engagement.

Responsibilities

• Project manage data center fit out projects, providing on-site support from inception to final handover.
• Estimate projects and create sales proposals for new business opportunities with assistance from the corporate office.
• Develop RFI (Requests for Information) and RFP (Requests for Proposals) documents for bid leveling.
• Create and manage budget and project plans during the analysis and design phase.
• Counsel clients and oversee subcontractors to ensure project deliverables and client expectations are met.
• Maintain status documents for client projects regarding scope, budget, billing, schedules, and timeframes.
• Oversee and approve all expenses related to the project.

Requirements

• 3 to 7 years of relevant data center facilities design and build project management experience.
• Hands-on experience with data center design and deployment best practices, particularly in power distribution and structured cabling.
• Ability to manage client expectations and maintain project documentation.

Nice-to-haves

• Strong understanding of design drawings including plans, sections, and elevations.
• Relationships with local vendors or data center REITs.
• Knowledge in bid documents and contractor bid leveling.
• RCDD, BICSI DCDC, CDCDP, or PMP certifications.
