About the position

ManTech is seeking a motivated Data Scientist to join the Workforce Analytics team in Springfield, Virginia. The role focuses on data collection, analysis, and reporting related to workforce diversity and inclusion, utilizing various data science and business intelligence tools. The Data Scientist will partner with government staff to provide insights on workforce metrics and employee sentiment, and will be responsible for delivering presentations and reports to diverse audiences, including senior leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out primary and secondary data collection and analysis activities.
  • Interpret data and analytic results, developing and vetting recommendations.
  • Develop reports and presentations for various audiences, including senior leaders.
  • Utilize and develop queries and reports from HRIS systems (PeopleSoft), CAVE, and Cognos.
  • Analyze data using descriptive and inferential statistics, including regression modeling techniques.
  • Provide diversity-related workforce analytics for the agency and government oversight.
  • Identify, collect, and analyze data related to equal employment opportunities and workplace inclusivity.
  • Display analytic results using data science and visualization tools, and communicate findings effectively.
  • Support internal and external reporting requirements by preparing and delivering briefings and reports.
  • Participate in meetings with government leaders and stakeholders related to diversity and data topics.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in the social science or workforce diversity related field.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a similar field with quantitative workforce analytics experience, or 4 additional years of experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with Tableau, Python, R, SQL, and/or similar tools.
  • Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative data analysis using descriptive and inferential statistics.
  • Experience interacting with senior-level directors and agency heads/senior leadership.
  • Experience utilizing human capital data and diversity and inclusion topical areas.

Nice-to-haves

  • Subject matter expert in quantitative and qualitative human capital research with advanced degrees in a quantitative field.
  • Proficiency in coding, including SQL.
