About the position
The ETL DataStage Developer position at UNITED IT TECHNICAL SERVICES involves designing and constructing scalable data management systems to meet company requirements. The role requires expertise in data mining practices and algorithms, as well as the ability to research new data acquisition methods. The developer will work closely with various teams to ensure data reliability and quality while integrating new technologies into existing systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, construct, install, test, and maintain data management systems.
- Ensure all systems meet business and industry requirements.
- Integrate new data management and software engineering technologies into existing structures.
- Develop processes for data mining, data modeling, and data production.
- Create custom software components and analytics applications.
- Research new uses for existing data.
- Employ various technological languages and tools to connect systems.
- Collaborate with team members on project goals.
- Recommend improvements for data reliability and quality.
Requirements
- Technical degree or related work experience.
- Experience with non-relational and relational databases (SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, MongoDB, etc.).
- Experience programming and/or architecting data extraction using DataStage or other data extraction tools.
- Expert in writing complex SQL queries.
- Good understanding of data modeling concepts and experience.
- Understanding and experience working with JSON file formats.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to lead and follow up on one's work.
- Ability to document work and share knowledge with the team.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with Snowflake and DBT.
- Some exposure to modern data engineering toolset.
