About the position

The Dental Assistant I, II, or III position at Sea Mar Community Health Centers involves assisting dental providers in delivering a variety of dental procedures in accordance with the Washington State Dental Practice Act. This full-time role is based at the Vancouver - Fourth Plain Dental Clinic and includes responsibilities such as maintaining dental records, assisting in various dental procedures, and training new dental assistants. The position emphasizes excellent customer service and effective communication skills, particularly in a culturally diverse environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the dental provider in the delivery of dental procedures allowed by the WA State Dental Practice Act.
  • Maintain proper records for material safety data sheets (MSDS) and spore tests.
  • Manage inventory of dental supplies.
  • Assist in training new Dental Assistants.
  • Organize schedules and generate checklists for maintenance of dental procedures.
  • Perform restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, orthodontics, and oral surgery procedures as permitted.

Requirements

  • Valid WA State dental assistant license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Organizational skills and dental record experience.
  • Familiarity with computer utilization.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate, read, and write in English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
  • Previous orthodontic experience.
