About the position

The Dietitian Specialist 3-RD is a full-time position focused on providing expert nutritional assessments and interventions for patients in the NICU and other settings. This role involves collaboration with healthcare teams to implement nutrition care plans, educate patients and families, and mentor other dietitians and healthcare staff. The specialist will also participate in outpatient nutrition classes and fulfill referrals as needed.

Responsibilities

• Complete inpatient and outpatient nutritional assessments and reassessments.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement nutrition interventions.
• Coordinate the nutrition care of patients.
• Provide specialized nutrition education to patients and family members.
• Work with dietitians, dietetic technicians, and diet aides to improve performance standards.
• Conduct in-services and lectures for clinical staff.
• Mentor clinical dietitians and other healthcare team members.
• Educate dietetic and medical students.
• Serve as a consultant for physicians.
• Participate in outpatient group nutrition classes as assigned.
• Fulfill appointments when referrals are received.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or a related field required.
• Three years of clinical nutrition experience required.
• One year of experience in Pediatrics preferred.
• Experience in two different specialty clinics preferred.
• Expert knowledge of clinical nutrition in area of specialty required.
• Certification from Commission on Dietetic Registration (RD/RDN) required.
• Board Certified Specialty certification in specialty area required.
• CCS Paneling required, must be obtained within the first year of hire.
