About the position

The Director, Digital and Paid Marketing at CB2 is responsible for overseeing all aspects of paid marketing initiatives, including vision, planning, budget management, customer insights, analytics, execution, and decision-making. This role involves leading a dedicated team across paid search, social, and display marketing, while also serving as the primary decision-maker with external digital marketing agencies. The position is hybrid, based in Chicago, and focuses on developing customer-centric strategies that align with key brand objectives and drive business performance.

Responsibilities

  • Own the strategy for growing all paid and digital marketing efforts in partnership with cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure cross-functional alignment to the paid marketing strategy for immediate and long-term vision.
  • Conceive and execute customer-centric strategies that support key brand objectives such as acquisition and retention.
  • Align budgets strategically with business goals, including e-commerce sales and conversion goals.
  • Drive and communicate performance insights and optimizations.
  • Develop and maximize the marketing budget in partnership with external agencies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key platform and vendor partners like Google, Meta, and TikTok.
  • Develop 'source of truth' reporting in collaboration with Analytics and Ecom teams.
  • Partner with leadership to create customer-centric promotional and advertising strategies.
  • Lead and develop a performance-minded team, communicating strategy cross-functionally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or equivalent field.
  • 10+ years of Digital Marketing experience in consumer-focused industries, preferably specialty retail.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing substantial media investments and driving brand performance.
  • Strong business management experience with full responsibility for budget management.
  • Proven ability to leverage data for measurable results and track accountabilities for desired outcomes.
  • Knowledgeable in effective media deployment and strategic analytics utilization.
  • Experience with Media Mix Modeling and brand health tracking.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a leadership role within a digital marketing agency or retail environment.
  • Familiarity with advanced digital marketing methodologies and analytics tools.
