About the position

The Director of Client Service plays a crucial role in the success of a high-growth financial planning and investment management firm. This position focuses on enhancing team and client experiences, optimizing technology, and providing leadership across various operational aspects of the business. The Director will work closely with the CEO to implement the firm's vision, support the advisory team, and ensure that all operational activities align with the company's mission of delivering exceptional client service.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure an amazing team experience and client experience while optimizing technology.
  • Support, guide, and provide leadership to the existing team.
  • Strategize with the CEO and implement the firm's vision, acting as Integrator to the CEO's Visionary role.
  • Shield the CEO and Advisory Team from operational activities to focus on client advice and relationship expansion.
  • Conduct 1:1 meetings with team members and debrief with the CEO.
  • Manage daily tasks based on team capacity and priority.
  • Facilitate communication and accountability between Advisors and Operations Team.
  • Handle employee issues including hiring, training, performance reviews, and terminations.
  • Oversee planning of team-building events and activities.
  • Ensure consistent client experience based on company mission and values.
  • Oversee client communication, meeting preparation, and account paperwork processes.
  • Provide backup client service as necessary and take responsibility for difficult issues.
  • Plan client events and manage client gifts.
  • Train teams on compliance issues and ensure adherence to policies.
  • Manage CRM accuracy and usage, and oversee technology integration.
  • Review expenses and discuss budget observations with the CEO.
  • Act as primary contact with vendors and negotiate terms.
  • Head up special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in business administration or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with independent registered investment advisor or broker-dealer.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in operations/client service management role.
  • Has or willing to obtain Series 65 license.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior knowledge of financial services, including industry regulations.
  • Technology savvy and proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with Schwab systems is ideal.
  • Experience in compliance, investment trading, and/or financial planning is ideal.
  • Knowledge of EOS preferred.
  • Ability to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
