About the position

The Director of Supply Chain HR at Dollar General is responsible for executing and implementing strategies related to staffing, training, employee relations, and performance management for distribution center employees. This role involves analyzing and defining the structure and processes of the distribution centers to align human capital with organizational goals, ensuring a positive work environment, and supporting the company's mission of serving others.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the execution and implementation of staffing, recruiting, internal development, performance management, and employee engagement strategies for assigned distribution centers.
  • Manage employee relations within distribution centers and assist in resolving escalated personnel-related issues.
  • Assist with succession planning and recruit potential leadership candidates both internally and externally.
  • Evaluate HR metrics and departmental results against established goals, recommending new approaches and policies for continual improvement.
  • Oversee HR Senior Managers to ensure task completion and attainment of departmental goals.
  • Responsible for goal planning and budgeting for departmental expenses.
  • Model total development and provide leadership opportunities for direct reports.
  • Implement leadership development and training across multiple locations.
  • Act as a consultant to influence business partners, delivering constructive advice and positively influencing change.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of progressive human resources experience, with management experience required.
  • Knowledge of human resource policies and procedures, including development and delivery.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and presentation.
  • Ability to identify trends and develop appropriate recommendations for resolution.
  • Experience in Union Avoidance laws and techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant employment laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, Title VII, FMLA, ADA).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a multi-location environment.
  • Proficiency in personal computer programs including design, database, and word processing.
