About the position

The Distribution Center Operations Manager (DCOM) at Berlin Packaging is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the branch's Distribution Center, including customer service, warehousing, inventory management, and production. This role involves building and leading a team to deliver exceptional customer service while maximizing profitability. The DCOM will work closely with sales and supply chain leadership to ensure financial success and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of account coordinators to support outside sales activities through customer service and order management.
• Oversee all warehouse operations including safety, quality, inventory management, and transportation.
• Provide leadership and ongoing development for direct reports, including coaching and performance evaluations.
• Partner with sales and supply chain to maintain effective supplier relationships.
• Manage profit and loss (P&L) performance through effective management of operating costs and fixed assets.
• Achieve operating metrics around safety, inventory turns, and on-time performance.
• Ensure compliance with order management and vendor management systems.
• Facilitate facility management and maintenance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a business-related discipline strongly preferred or equivalent experience required.
• 3+ years of people leadership experience required.
• Demonstrated success in managing customer service, warehousing, and operations with P&L management experience.
• Strong business and financial acumen.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software and Microsoft Office suite preferred.
