About the position

The Distribution Center Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the distribution center, ensuring productivity, accuracy, and service goals are met. This role involves managing staffing, providing performance feedback, and developing career paths for associates. The supervisor will maintain a safe and efficient work environment while collaborating with various departments to improve processes and uphold company policies.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate daily operations requirements and ensure appropriate scheduling of resources.
• Maintain presence within assigned department to assist associates and provide direction.
• Interview, select, and manage talent for a diverse range of associates.
• Provide direct supervision of department associates, including staffing and task assignment.
• Review and react to reporting, staffing, and productivity during each shift.
• Maintain workplace safety standards and ensure a clean environment.
• Establish and communicate departmental goals to associates.
• Prioritize tasks based on merchandise aging and production capacity.
• Create a positive work environment through motivation and engagement.
• Ensure compliance with operating procedures and company policies.
• Perform administrative duties such as timekeeping and performance reviews.
• Provide support for associate suggestions, complaints, and concerns.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• 3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Retail experience in operations, logistics, or distribution is a plus.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Creole) is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient in computer skills, including Word and Excel.
• Ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Must be able to work flexible hours and adapt to changing requirements.
• Self-directed, multi-tasking, and action-oriented.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in supply chain and transportation is a plus.
• Ability to operate assigned equipment and tools.
