We are currently seeking a Distribution Logistics Specialist who will play a crucial role in ensuring that our logistics processes run smoothly and efficiently. This position involves creating tasks, assigning orders, and monitoring purchase orders (POs) to meet our monthly goals. The Distribution Logistics Specialist will be responsible for reviewing the Warehouse Schedule Software for daily open orders, ensuring that stock is available for orders with due dates in our planning window. This role requires the creation of tasks in our AMP system for the Bulk Warehouses and the coordination of any priorities with warehouse staff. The specialist will also be responsible for updating Account Managers on any issues related to expiration dates, extra custom units, and shipping requirements that may require customer approval. Additionally, the specialist will build and report a daily PO schedule to ensure transparency in distribution and will review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for any changes in the logistics process. Effective communication is key in this role, as the specialist will work closely with Upper Management, Account Managers, and Customers to ensure that logistics processes run smoothly. The position also involves coordinating with freight forwarders, carriers, and customers for the pickup and delivery of shipments, as well as preparing logistic documentation for both pallet and email conditions. The specialist will support and participate in company, department, and safety policies, procedures, and programs, and may be required to fill in for others as needed. Maintaining a clean and orderly work area is also part of the job, along with other duties as assigned. Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Create tasks and assign orders to fulfill monthly goals.
• Monitor purchase orders (POs) to ensure timely shipping.
• Review Warehouse Schedule Software for daily open orders.
• Ensure tasks are created in AMP for Bulk Warehouses and coordinate priorities with warehouse staff.
• Update Account Managers on issues with expiration dates and shipping requirements.
• Build and report daily PO schedule for transparency in distribution.
• Review and update SOPs for logistics process changes.
• Communicate with Upper Management, Account Managers, and Customers to ensure smooth logistics processes.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, and customers for shipment pickups and deliveries.
• Prepare logistic documentation for shipments.
• Support company policies and maintain a clean work area.

Requirements

• Knowledge of various computer software applications including word processing and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to read, interpret, and create logistics support documentation such as Shipper's Exports and Bills of Lading.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages and volume.
• Problem-solving skills to deal with practical issues under time constraints.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in different formats.
• Experience applying logistics principles and methods to specialized solutions.
• Ability to work independently and lead the implementation of logistics discipline.
