About The Position

The Electro-Mechanical Technician will be responsible for assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical and electronic systems, ensuring the smooth operation of automated machinery. This role requires expertise in troubleshooting and repairing various electrical and mechanical components, with a focus on PLC and HMI systems. The technician will work rotating shifts, including day and night shifts, and must be available for overtime and weekend work.

Requirements

• 5 years of 24V troubleshooting experience.
• 5 years of PLC experience.
• 5 years of experience with 3 phase 480/277 and 120/240 volt electrical systems.
• Must be a Journeyman Electrician.
• Experience with automated machines.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of basic electricity and electronics.
• Experience with DC equipment and controls.
• Familiarity with electrical measuring instruments and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to HMI and PLC systems, ensuring uninterrupted automation processes.
• Identify and repair mechanical and electrical malfunctions in machinery, including PLC/HMI communication failures, solenoid and contactor issues, and restoring 24V communication.
• Conduct comprehensive repairs, rebuilds, and replacements of critical components, such as valves, motors, gearboxes, hydraulic motors, pumps, hoses, and regulators.
• Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including cylinders, proportional and directional valves, and vacuum systems for suction within machinery.
• Maintain electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes at the country, state, and federal levels.
• Perform safety-related functions and other miscellaneous electrical functions.
• Competent with the configuration of VFDs and troubleshooting PLCs.
• Utilize a systematic approach to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and avoid replacing parts.
