About the position

The Emergency Department Technician (EDT) at McLaren Flint is responsible for providing basic nursing care and specific nursing functions within the Emergency Department under the supervision of a registered nurse. This role is crucial in supporting the emergency care team and ensuring quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Complete basic arrhythmia class for ERTs with a minimum score of 80% on the written test within two attempts.
• Satisfactorily complete competency testing for IV and urinary catheter placement.
• Assist in the delivery of patient care in the Emergency Department.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BCLS certification.
• Licensure as Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic.
• Minimum of six months Emergency Department or Emergency Medical Technician experience.
