About the position

The Equipment Supervisor is responsible for overseeing employees in various operational areas including dish/EPA, pre-load, liquor/beverage, and transportation. This role ensures timely completion of activities that support catering efforts while maintaining quality production standards and compliance with company policies and customer specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct all dish room and liquor/beverage process employees.
  • Ensure quality production standards are maintained for all accounts.
  • Maintain company policies and procedures as well as specification books for airline customers.
  • Prepare management reports such as attendance, HAACCP, and labor reports as required.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and compliance with customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct inventory of Gate Gourmet products and customer materials to minimize waste.
  • Complete required requisitions for the storeroom to maintain adequate supply.
  • Maintain daily temperature logs and other reports as required.
  • Work with maintenance staff to ensure preventive maintenance of machinery is performed according to schedules.
  • Control food costs and other controllable costs.
  • Manage employee performance evaluations, coaching, and corrective actions in compliance with union agreements.
  • Determine staffing needs and manage workflow balancing among employees on each shift.
  • Train and monitor employees on proper work procedures to maximize productivity with minimal labor and food expenses.
  • Responsible for employee retention and reducing turnover.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • 2+ years supervisory experience in a high volume, manufacturing, food production, restaurant, or catering environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a staff of 30+ hourly employees.
  • Ability to train others and provide constructive feedback.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to obtain ServSafe Certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Current or previous labor relations experience is a plus.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish/Chinese Mandarin/Vietnamese/Hindi/Polish is a plus.
