About the position
The ER Tech Seasonal position at Collier Physicians Regional involves providing essential technical support in the Emergency Room to enhance patient care. The role includes assisting physicians and nurses with various technical tasks under the supervision of medical staff, ensuring efficient and effective patient treatment.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to physicians and nurses in the Emergency Room.
- Perform phlebotomy and IV starts for patient care.
- Conduct 12 lead EKGs and monitor patients' vital signs.
- Transport patients to other departments as needed.
- Assist in Point of Care Testing and wound care procedures.
- Insert foley catheters and obtain lab specimens for testing.
- Document all care and procedures provided to patients.
- Assist the Emergency Physician with technical tasks such as suturing simple lacerations.
- Clean and maintain equipment and workspace.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 1 year of previous experience in a related role is required.
- Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician or in a related field is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
