About the position
The ETL DataStage Developer role involves designing and constructing scalable data management systems to meet company requirements. The position requires expertise in data extraction, data modeling, and the integration of new technologies into existing data structures. The developer will work closely with various teams to ensure the reliability and quality of data products, particularly in the context of case management data for the bank's Snowflake environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, construct, install, test, and maintain data management systems.
- Ensure that all systems meet business and industry requirements.
- Integrate new data management and software engineering technologies into existing structures.
- Develop processes for data mining, data modeling, and data production.
- Create custom software components and analytics applications.
- Research new uses for existing data.
- Employ various technological languages and tools to connect systems together.
- Collaborate with team members on project goals.
- Recommend improvements for data reliability and quality.
- Understand the Disputes business process and data behind the Disputes case management vendor application.
- Build data products for current state case management data in the bank's Snowflake environment.
- Extract data, push to Snowflake, design data products, and implement them to production while meeting compliance rules.
- Expand efforts to add case management data for the Fifth Third Forward Debit initiative.
Requirements
- Technical degree or related work experience.
- Experience with non-relational and relational databases (SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, MongoDB, etc.).
- Experience programming and/or architecting data extraction using DataStage or other data extraction tools.
- Expert in writing complex SQL queries.
- Good understanding of data modeling concepts and experience.
- Understanding and experience working with JSON file formats.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to lead and follow up on one's work.
- Ability to document one's work and share knowledge with the team.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with Snowflake and DBT.
- Some exposure to modern data engineering toolset.
