About the position
The Evaluator I position at Arizona Public Service (APS) involves providing technical and administrative expertise to implement Nuclear Assurance activities at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (PVNGS). The role includes performing audits, evaluations, inspections, and special assignments to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards in the nuclear plant environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform audits and evaluations as assigned.
- Conduct inspections in accordance with ASME NQA-1 2008/2009a standards.
- Support Quality Control receipt inspection processes and communicate discrepancies with suppliers.
- Evaluate programs to ensure they are established, implemented, and effective.
- Report evaluation and verification results in a timely manner.
- Observe and report on activities affecting plant safety and operations.
- Perform data analysis and trending to provide timely reports.
- Follow up on identified problems and ensure closure of corrective action documents.
- Evaluate the use of applicable plant and industry operating experience.
- Perform other Nuclear Assurance Program activities and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- A four-year Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university and two years of nuclear plant experience; OR a two-year technical degree and four years of nuclear plant experience; OR high school/GED plus six years of nuclear plant experience.
- One year of experience performing quality verification activities.
- Ability to qualify for security and radiological clearances.
