About the position

The Event Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic beverages to guests and venue servers, ensuring a high level of service and hospitality. This role involves taking orders, managing the bar area, and maintaining cleanliness while adhering to health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all alcoholic beverages for guests and venue servers.
  • Take orders and conduct full food/beverage service.
  • Monitor guests' bar/dining experience.
  • Maintain professional appearance standards as directed in the Tao Group Hospitality Employee Handbook.
  • Anticipate and accommodate the needs of the guests.
  • Provide professional and exceptional service.
  • Present menus, answer questions, and make suggestions for food and beverage items.
  • Inform guests of food and beverage specials and prices.
  • Solicit allergy or dietary restrictions from guests.
  • Accurately enter all orders into the POS system and follow cash/payment card procedures.
  • Ensure delivery of food and beverage to guests at the bar and lounge.
  • Maintain general cleanliness of the bar and bar area.
  • Organize liquor displays and shelving, maintaining par levels.
  • Follow supervisor's instructions and support co-workers.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of food and beverage menus.
  • Serve alcoholic beverages in accordance with state regulations and alcohol awareness training standards.
  • Comply with Department of Health and company sanitation standards.
  • Complete all end-of-shift financial procedures accurately.
  • Communicate guest needs to Front-of-House and Heart-of-House staff.
  • Set up bar stations and perform opening/closing procedures as directed.
  • Report breakage or damage of equipment or furniture to management.
  • Attend daily pre-service meetings and training sessions.
  • Portray a positive and professional attitude.
  • Work as part of a team and support fellow team members.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of professional beverage experience.
  • Previous bartending experience.
  • Experience in a high-volume restaurant/nightclub/lounge.
  • Alcohol Awareness Certification.
  • Food Handling Certificate.
