About the position

The Events Coordinator at Michaels is responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating various events, including children's birthday parties, within the store. This role aims to create a fun and engaging experience for guests while delivering excellent customer service. The coordinator will manage multiple events simultaneously, ensuring client satisfaction and adherence to company standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events, including children's birthday parties and craft classes.
• Engage with clients of all ages, creating an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects and activities.
• Facilitate party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons according to company standards.
• Communicate event details with clients and store team members.
• Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails and making phone calls.
• Adjust plans based on client feedback and create backup plans as needed.
• Ensure cleanliness and safety standards are upheld before and after each event.
• Help customers shop and locate products, providing solutions and a friendly checkout experience.
• Participate in truck unloading, stocking, and merchandise recovery processes.

Requirements

• Energetic and enthusiastic personality with excellent people skills.
• Experience working with children and organizing children's events.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Organizational skills and creative problem-solving abilities.
• Retail and/or customer service experience.
