About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to assist clients with their tax preparation needs, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and providing exceptional customer service. This temporary, seasonal role is essential for preparing and filing tax returns for individuals and businesses, while also guiding clients through their tax obligations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Review financial records to determine tax liability and identify deductions.
• Provide guidance on tax-related issues and answer client inquiries.
• Utilize financial software to streamline the preparation process and maintain accurate records.
• Stay updated on current tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Assist clients in understanding their tax obligations and potential refunds.
• Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance client satisfaction.

Requirements

• Proven experience in public accounting or as a tax preparer is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of tax regulations and filing procedures.
• Proficiency in accounting principles, including technical accounting skills.
• Excellent math skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with financial sales concepts is a plus.
• Experience using QuickBooks or similar financial software.
• Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves
