About The Position

The Fast and Fresh Clerk at Hy-Vee is responsible for providing prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service while ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the store. This role involves operating the cash register, assisting customers with their needs, and maintaining the quality and quantity of products in the Fast and Fresh department. Requirements

• Ability to solve practical problems with a variety of variables and limited standardization.
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Ability to file, post, and mail materials; copy data from one record to another; and guide people.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all customer interactions.
• Operates cash register accurately and scans products, ensuring proper cash handling procedures.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, loading/unloading heavy items, and addressing customer suggestions or requests.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call.
• Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Receives and checks in delivered merchandise and places it in the appropriate storage area.
• Fills displays and stocks shelves, ensuring proper maintenance of the store lot.
• Cleans and maintains work areas, including registers, restrooms, and break rooms, adhering to sanitation procedures.
• Orders merchandise and supplies as needed and prices products for customers.
