About the position

The Field Service Technician at Safe Fleet is responsible for the installation, setup, commissioning, and troubleshooting of Safe Fleet equipment and other mobile products. This role is crucial in ensuring that fleet vehicles are equipped with the necessary safety technology to enhance safety and efficiency. The technician will travel extensively across the US and Canada to perform installations and provide training to customers and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Travel to various customer sites in the US and Canada to complete the installation of Safe Fleet equipment.
• Setup and verify new units ensuring they come online and are ready for dispatch.
• Troubleshoot system and components, effect repairs and/or replacements due to defects or damage.
• Provide customer and technician training on equipment usage and installation.
• Complete necessary documentation for installations and repairs.

Requirements

• MECP Basic Installation Technician Certification or Electronics Engineering Technician Diploma from a College institution.
• A minimum of one-year experience in a mobile installation environment, preferably with class 7 and class 8 vehicles.
• Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems, including multiplexed systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Computer and basic networking skills.
• Experience in installing and setting up access points.
• Ability to install, program, and demonstrate mobile surveillance and sensor products in commercial vehicles.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with mobile surveillance systems.
• Familiarity with various commercial vehicle types in passenger transportation, law enforcement, and waste management markets.
