About the position

The Field Team Manager at Munters Corporation is responsible for overseeing a team of HVAC technicians specializing in data center environments. This role focuses on ensuring optimal operation and maintenance of HVAC systems, facilitating uninterrupted business operations, and enhancing customer satisfaction. The manager will lead service protocols, collaborate with project managers, and maintain safety and efficiency standards within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of HVAC field service technicians in installing, servicing, and maintaining HVAC systems for data centers.
  • Develop and enact service protocols and best practices for data center HVAC operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with data center project managers and stakeholders for preventive maintenance and quick responses to system failures.
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety guidelines, fostering a culture prioritizing safety and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor and optimize inventory management procedures for service vehicles.
  • Liaise with sales and marketing teams to implement strategies highlighting the company's HVAC services for data centers.
  • Convey customer experience feedback through the C2 customer complaint system.
  • Support service sales promotions and provide feedback on scope definition and costs.
  • Participate in recruiting activities to support staffing efforts.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and ongoing education for employees.
  • Perform quality assurance checks in the field and manage back-office service administration.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of substantial experience in the HVAC industry, focusing on data center environments.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role overseeing a team of technicians.
  • Deep knowledge of the specific demands and challenges associated with data center HVAC systems.
  • Solid understanding of data center infrastructure and operational protocols.
  • Experience with state-of-the-art monitoring and management systems used in data centers.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel at short notice to multiple site locations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Familiarity with data center certifications such as CDCMP, CDCP, or equivalent.
  • Relevant HVAC certifications; EPA Certification preferred.
  • Experience with refrigeration and controls preferred.
  • Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
