About the position

The Field Technician role at Allegis Group involves collecting and managing data related to power poles across Indiana. This position requires effective communication and teamwork, as well as the ability to utilize specific software for data collection and analysis. The technician will work full-time on a contract basis, ensuring accurate and safe data collection while interacting with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Collect data on power poles, including attachment heights and power communication details.
• Utilize software (Katapult) to gather pole heights, midspan information, and other relevant data.
• Travel daily within the state of Indiana.
• Complete data collection tasks safely, accurately, and promptly.
• Communicate effectively with team members, customers, and the public in a courteous manner.
• Upload and download collected data using computer systems as trained.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new computer software efficiently.
• 1 year experience working in the field, preferably with utilities or telecomm projects.
• Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, management and customers.
• Desires a team-based environment and can work cohesively with team members on a variety of projects and tasks.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

Nice-to-haves

• Field service experience (1 year preferred).
• Public utility experience (1 year preferred).
• Utility locating experience (1 year preferred).
