About the position

The position of Server at Wilderness Resort involves providing excellent customer service to guests by taking food and beverage orders, serving meals, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The role requires interaction with guests, knowledge of menu items, and the ability to handle payments while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and introduce self.
• Present menus and answer questions about menu items and daily specials.
• Check guest's identification for age verification regarding alcohol consumption.
• Take orders for food and beverages, either by writing them down or entering them into a computer system.
• Serve food and beverages, including specialty dishes at tables as required.
• Perform side work and prepare areas for the next shift.
• Check with guests to ensure satisfaction and address any issues.
• Remove dishes and glasses from tables and take them to the kitchen for cleaning.
• Prepare checks that itemize and total costs, and collect payments from guests.
• Advise a manager of any concerns related to excessive drinking.
• Perform duties of a busser as needed.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked, and presentable work environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a server role or similar position preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills for handling payments and checks.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Familiarity with menu items and beverage pairings.
