About the position

The Finance Specialist will oversee the accounts payable functions for Golden Pacific Bank (GPB) and assist with various departmental reporting tasks. This role is crucial in managing vendor invoices, ensuring compliance with banking regulations, and supporting the operational needs of the bank's branches in Sacramento, Yuba City, and Live Oak, CA. The position requires collaboration with multiple departments and senior management, emphasizing integrity and professionalism in all interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the accounts payable process and seek efficiencies.
  • Assist in the normal operations and duties of the GPB Finance area.
  • Respond to branch inquiries regarding vendors.
  • Prepare and review various reports including weekly and monthly reports.
  • Maintain and modify operating procedures for GPB Finance as needed.
  • Adhere to bank policies and support management decisions positively.
  • Represent Golden Pacific Bank and SoFi Bank with integrity and professionalism.
  • Comply with all Federal and State laws related to the job description.
  • Partner with the Branch team and perform dual custody when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of branch-based banking operations.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and work with individuals and groups at all organizational levels.
  • Good team player with strong listening skills.
  • Solid practical knowledge of Excel and Google suite of applications.
  • Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; good time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to study and apply new information.
  • Possess a work ethic that includes honesty, punctuality, and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of banking compliance rules and regulations.
  • Possess a valid California Driver's License.
  • High school diploma; College degree strongly preferred but not an absolute requirement.
  • Minimum of 2 years of banking or credit union experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant undergraduate degree.
  • Familiarity with IT platforms for financial institutions.
  • Experience working in the greater Sacramento and Yuba/Sutter markets.
