About the position

The Financial Controller at Next Health is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring both immediate and long-term fiscal success. This role involves managing a wide range of financial functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and compliance, while aligning financial strategies with the company's growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable/payable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Utilize financial management software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) to streamline financial operations.
  • Ensure accuracy in financial reporting, data analysis, and compliance with financial policies and regulations.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, report variances, and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls across corporate and franchised locations.
  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations and standards, including GAAP, and manage relationships with external auditors.
  • Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience.
  • Experience with franchising/multi-unit retail locations is highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP regulations.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with financial management software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
