About the position

The Financial Management Analyst will serve in the Financial Improvement Audit Readiness (FIAR) Branch at the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station, Pacific (NCTAMS PAC). The role involves conducting financial assessments, monitoring financial management processes, and ensuring compliance with DoD initiatives. The analyst will also perform specialized work related to accounting systems and assist in studies related to financial management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial assessment visits (FAV) to ensure coverage of financial management areas in the Internal Control Program and DoD's FIAR.
• Monitor the Command's Outstanding Validation Review (OVR) and Quarterly Dormant Account Review (DARQ) processes using the Active Document Listing (ADL).
• Review prior year activity for each command and respond to data calls related to prior year execution, unmatched documents, and suspense items.
• Review and update FIAR/FAV checklist at least semi-annually and other directives as applicable.
• Perform studies or assist others with full-scale studies related to financial management.
• Conduct financial assessments on sites under NCTAMS PAC to ensure compliance with FIAR initiatives.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
• Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
• Experience applying various accounting, budget, and financial management laws and regulations.
• Experience assembling, reviewing, and maintaining complex accounting and budget transactions.
• Experience verifying the validity of cash items and processing procedures.
• Experience reviewing employee pay and leave regulations and systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree.
• Possession of an LL.B. or J.D. related to this position.
