About the position

The Financial Medicaid Investigator position at FRR Recovery, Inc. involves assisting patients with the application process for Medical Financial Assistance, including Medicaid and NYS Marketplace Insurance Coverage. This role requires strong interpersonal skills to conduct interviews with patients and their representatives, ensuring timely processing of applications and maintaining accurate records. The position is hybrid, with training conducted in Melville, NY, and primary work based in Queens, NY.

Responsibilities

• Conduct interviews with patients and patient representatives at designated locations within the hospital and during scheduled appointments.
• Ensure timely and quality processing of applications assigned to the workload.
• Review accounts to determine existing insurance or potential eligibility for NYS Medicaid/Marketplace.
• Schedule follow-up appointments to obtain necessary documents for application completion.
• Update hospital and other systems utilized for application transmission in a timely manner.
• Participate in educational activities, seminars, and webinars.
• Perform other duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

• Bilingual in Spanish is required.
• Associate Degree or higher is preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience with the Medicaid process and Third Party Verification is preferred.
• NYS of Health Certified Application Counselor Certificate is preferred.
