About the position
The Fishing Center Attendant at Loch Raven Fishing Center is a seasonal role responsible for assisting in the operation of the fishing center under the supervision of a park ranger or assistant manager. The position involves attending to patrons, maintaining facilities, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors during the summer season.
Responsibilities
- Attend to the needs of the fishing center patrons.
- Assist patrons with location and safe use of rental boats and motors.
- Encourage the proper use of trash receptacles and toilet facilities.
- Maintain fishing center facilities in a safe, sanitary and attractive condition.
- Prepare rental boats and equipment for use of patrons, including carrying 12-volt batteries.
- Perform painting, repairing and light grounds keeping at the fishing center as directed.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age by May 1, 2025.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays throughout the summer and have days off on the weekdays.
- Must have reliable transportation as facilities are not located on public transportation lines.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Nice-to-haves
- Certified American Canoe Association Paddlesports Safety Facilitator (or equivalent) certification.
- American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
- Current CPR Certification.
- Water safety knowledge.
- Ability to interact with people in a helpful, courteous manner.
