About the position
The Forklift Freezer Warehouse position at Harris Teeter involves operating electric powered industrial trucks to manage the movement of products, equipment, and materials within a freezer warehouse environment. This position is part of the 3rd shift operations, emphasizing teamwork, customer service, and quality management.
Responsibilities
- Drive electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift.
- Move levers and press dead man pedals to control movement of lifting apparatus.
- Position forks under, over, or around loaded pallets, boxes, products, or materials.
- Transport loads to designated areas and unload/stack products as needed.
- Reference RFS computer to find locations for pallet placement.
- Remove needed products from overhead slots and place them in appropriate selecting slots.
- Record information in RFS computer regarding completion of put away.
- Remove plastic wrap from selection slots and separate pallets as required.
- Keep work area clean and clear of debris.
- Follow company's safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and present information effectively.
- Ability to perform basic math operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of forklift RF unit, VLM time system, Triceps scan station.
