About the position

The General Manager at YouFit is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the gym location, including team management, facility maintenance, member experience, and operational efficiency. The role emphasizes creating a positive environment for both employees and members, ensuring that the gym operates smoothly and meets its business goals. The General Manager will lead a team, manage administrative tasks, and implement strategies to enhance the gym's performance and competitiveness in the local market.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all assets of the YouFit location including team, facility, and equipment.
  • Partner with the recruiting department to train and develop team members.
  • Create and maintain the team schedule for operational success.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to develop team members' skills.
  • Manage administrative responsibilities such as evaluations, payroll, and daily deposits.
  • Achieve monthly membership and personal training goals as well as quarterly revenue goals.
  • Utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools effectively to drive business.
  • Communicate updates, policy changes, and marketing promotions to all departments.
  • Maintain club cleanliness and create a safe environment for employees and members.
  • Develop and implement competitive strategies based on local market conditions.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • At least one year of experience managing a team of at least ten employees.
  • Knowledge of a formal sales system.
  • Experience in operations and sales management.
  • Experience in recruiting, interviewing, and developing a team.
  • Outside marketing and business-to-business sales experience.
  • Experience managing a business to higher profitability using P&Ls.
  • Experience dealing directly with customers and vendors.
  • Experience in the fitness industry is preferred.
  • Four-year degree preferred.
