About the position

The Global Payroll Director is responsible for the strategic design, interaction, and maintenance of the entire payroll infrastructure at the J.R. Simplot Company. This role ensures compliance with applicable company policies and various legal statutes while overseeing the timely and accurate completion of payroll operations. The director will lead payroll expansion and improvement initiatives, working closely with senior business leaders to align payroll strategies with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders on payroll and timekeeping initiatives.
• Establish effective communication channels with HR, Finance, and other departments.
• Identify opportunities and risks in payroll compliance and create recommendations to mitigate them.
• Monitor compliance with payroll laws and regulations at all levels.
• Develop and execute an audit/review plan for payroll records and processes.
• Oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll across all countries of operation.
• Manage relationships with third-party vendors to ensure compliance with service level agreements.
• Promote a positive workplace climate and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Set and communicate clear expectations for team performance and productivity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, HR, or a related field.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in payroll management.
• Extensive knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and payroll/timekeeping software.

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred.
