About the position

The Grant Development Officer at Engineers Without Borders USA (EWB-USA) is responsible for identifying, securing, and managing grant funding opportunities to support the organization's mission and programs. This role involves preparing compelling grant proposals, ensuring compliance with grant requirements, and collaborating with various departments to align grant activities with organizational goals. The position aims to unlock significant funding to enhance EWB-USA's impact on communities worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with grantmakers and institutional funders.
  • Represent EWB-USA at meetings, conferences, and events to enhance visibility and funding prospects.
  • Research and identify potential grant opportunities from various funding sources.
  • Prepare high-quality grant proposals and applications that align with EWB-USA's mission and strategic priorities.
  • Tailor proposals to meet specific guidelines and requirements of each funding source.
  • Coach partners through the grant proposal process.
  • Collaborate with program staff, finance, and other departments to gather necessary information and develop grant budgets.
  • Oversee the management of awarded grants, ensuring compliance with funding requirements and timely submission of reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of grant activities and collaborate with finance on expenditure tracking.
  • Maintain a detailed grant calendar to track application deadlines and reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in grant writing or management, including Federal, State, and Private/Foundational grants.
  • Proven track record of securing significant grant funding.
  • Experience in Domestic and International Development.
