About the position

As the Head of Projects at CBRE, you will oversee project management services within a designated geographic market, program, or client account. This role is crucial for achieving the company's strategic business objectives and involves managing projects from initiation to completion, ensuring compliance, and maintaining financial performance across various accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide formal supervision to employees and monitor their training and development.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and coaching for team members.
  • Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
  • Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities, establishing work schedules and assigning tasks.
  • Set and track staff and department deadlines, mentoring and coaching as needed.
  • Direct all phases of the project process for small to medium-sized clients, including procurement, contracting, planning, tracking, and execution.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant contract procurement, negotiation, execution, administration, and closeouts.
  • Develop new business growth and maintain existing business relationships.
  • Maintain full responsibility for the financial performance of market, program, and client accounts.
  • Identify project risks, lead reviews, and develop risk mitigation and backup plans.
  • Apply knowledge of multiple disciplines and key drivers impacting performance.
  • Lead by example, modeling behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values.
  • Persuade managers and colleagues to take action guided by functional business plans.
  • Negotiate with external partners, vendors, and customers to reach common goals.
  • Identify and solve complex operational and organizational problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 8-12 years of relevant experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • LEED AP, PMP, and/or CCM designation(s) preferred.
  • Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, and performance management is preferred.
  • Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive and complicated information and handle problems effectively.
  • Leadership skills to set, manage, and achieve targets impacting multiple department results.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Expert organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Sophisticated math skills for financial-related calculations.
