About the position

The Level 1 Help Desk Technician serves as the first point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance. This role is crucial in diagnosing and resolving technical issues, providing remote troubleshooting, managing user accounts, and documenting solutions. The technician also assists with the setup and configuration of new hardware and software, ensuring a smooth IT experience for all users.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first level support to employees, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions to identify and resolve technical problems.
  • Create and manage user accounts, including password resets and permissions, ensuring secure access to systems.
  • Accurately document issues, solutions, and user interactions in the ticketing system to maintain detailed records.
  • Track and manage IT inventory, including hardware, software licenses, and other technology assets.
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and updating of software applications.
  • Work with various departments to understand their IT needs and help provide suitable solutions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • CompTIA A+ certification or 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively assist users.
  • Strong customer-oriented approach with patience and empathy.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting computer systems, software, and hardware.
  • Experience in creating and managing user accounts, including password resets.
  • Skill in documenting issues and solutions accurately in the ticketing system.
