About the position
The Home Caregiver position involves providing essential support and assistance to individuals in their homes or authorized settings. This role focuses on helping clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), ensuring their comfort and safety while maintaining their dignity. Caregivers are responsible for a variety of tasks, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication reminders, and transportation, while adhering to agency policies and maintaining client confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal hygiene and household functions.
- Support clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Help with instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) including meal preparation, shopping, and errands.
- Utilize Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) for documenting client-related activities.
- Report any unusual circumstances in the client's condition or home environment to the supervisor.
- Drive safely and comply with traffic regulations when business travel is required.
- Participate in agency performance improvement activities and complete all other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Six months of experience in home care preferred.
- Successful completion of a competency evaluation.
- Access to public transportation or a dependable vehicle with a current driver's license and vehicle insurance.
- CPR certification as required.
- State-specific training and competency requirements for Home Health Aides.
