About the position

The HR Consultant at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is responsible for delivering efficient HR services to leaders and faculty, guiding them on HR policies and processes, and monitoring key metrics. This role supports the HR Business Partner by providing analysis and support to enhance HR processes aligned with the organization's strategic objectives. The consultant will also focus on talent needs, integration, and employee development, while serving as a role model for service excellence across the department.

Responsibilities

• Deliver efficient and effective HR services to designated leaders and faculty.
• Provide guidance on HR policies and processes.
• Monitor, evaluate, and report progress on key HR metrics.
• Support the HR Business Partner with human resources analysis and support services.
• Educate, advise, and support management on employee retention and performance management.
• Facilitate coaching, onboarding, and new hire orientation.
• Assist in organizational development and change management initiatives.
• Act as an employee champion and communicate needs proactively with stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in Human Resources.
• Understanding of Ohio and Federal employment laws.
• PHR/SPHR or other professional certification preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships and establish rapport with all levels of the organization.
• Strong consultative style with experience supporting multiple HR areas.
• Mindset for continuous improvement and exceeding customer expectations.
