About the position

The HR Director is responsible for managing the HR department at the facility level, focusing on creating an excellent team member experience while ensuring compliance with HR regulations. This role encompasses various HR functions including recruiting, onboarding, payroll management, employee relations, and maintaining employment records. The HR Director will also support diversity and inclusion efforts and ensure the facility is prepared for HR surveys and compliance checks.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the applicant tracking system (ATS) and ensure timely communication with new applicants.
  • Conduct weekly staffing meetings with facility leadership and maintain accurate ATS postings.
  • Develop a robust recruitment plan in collaboration with the Recruitment Consultant.
  • Coordinate community events to promote open positions and training opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws during hiring and onboarding processes.
  • Facilitate new employee onboarding and training requirements.
  • Enter new employee information into HRIS and manage payroll processes.
  • Facilitate communication regarding Worker's Compensation and employee leaves.
  • Engage in employee relations issues and provide coaching to facility leadership.
  • Manage offboarding processes and ensure accurate final pay for exiting employees.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture and participate in facility leadership meetings.

Requirements

  • 2 years of related experience in HR or a degree in Human Resources or Business.
  • Preferred degree in Human Resources and certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP.
  • Experience in healthcare, skilled nursing, or assisted living environments.
  • Experience working in a union environment.
