About the position
The Human Resources Generalist at Cherry Valley Hotel is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Human Resources operations within the hotel. This role involves empowering management through training and development, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and managing the hiring and onboarding processes. The HR Generalist will also play a key role in fostering a positive workplace culture and employee engagement.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the Human Resources function
- Work with the management team to empower their people management skills through trainings, development, coaching/counseling
- Ensure compliance to corporate policy and procedure
- Be familiar with federal, state and local guidelines/laws
- Establish local standard operating procedures from company handbook and policy to ensure successful people operations
- Manage the entire hire and onboarding cycle for employees
- Conduct orientations
- Responsible for all aspects of HR compliance
- Work with management to put together training checklists for their staff
- Conduct team wrap sessions and help build hotel-wide culture
- Lead engagement for the property and work with management to keep recognition running within each department
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in the Human Resources function
- Hospitality experience a plus but not required, will consider similar industries
- High school diploma required, college degree preferred but will consider on-the-job experience equivalent to a 4-year program
- Proven track record of successfully engaging teams
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments
- Creative approach to training and development
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Work under variable temperatures and environment, different hazards
- Medium work, must have ability to stand, bend, stretch and twist
- Long hours sometimes required
