The Human Resources Generalist role at Spectrum involves administering HR policies and programs while balancing employee advocacy with business needs. Responsibilities

  • Administer human resources policies and programs.
  • Promote equity, fair treatment, and positive employee relations.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws.
  • Provide HR support in recruitment and retention of talent.
  • Conduct performance coaching and management.
  • Identify and resolve HR-related issues proactively.
  • Build relationships with Business Leaders for better decision-making.
  • Communicate and execute changes to policies and procedures.
  • Perform employee relations functions including counseling and dispute resolution.
  • Conduct employee-related investigations as necessary.
  • Handle workers compensation and safety regulations process.
  • Coordinate Leave of Absence programs and processes.
  • Conduct health and welfare benefits open enrollment meetings.
  • Provide training for employees and supervisors on policies and procedures.
  • Ensure timely and accurate entries to the HRIS database.
  • Perform audit and compliance functions as requested.
  • Maintain employee records in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Participate in HR committees to resolve employment challenges.
  • Assist in managing bonus plans and merit processes.
  • Assist in the annual budget planning process.
  • Recruit and staff from internal and external sources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of Human Resources Generalist experience.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws and procedures.
  • Knowledge of staffing and employment practices.
  • Analytical skills and consultative coaching skills.
  • Demonstrated PC skills and proficiency in MS Office.

Nice-to-haves

  • Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
  • Certifications for Human Resource Professionals (PHR, SPHR) preferred.
