About the position

The Intake & Enrollment Manager at FareStart is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the execution of high-quality job training programs aligned with the organization's strategic goals. This role involves overseeing a team that conducts community outreach for student recruitment, managing enrollment outcomes, and facilitating the onboarding process for new students. The position is integral to the Programs department leadership team and contributes to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to set and meet student enrollment goals and outcomes.
  • Provide direct supervision to direct reports, including hiring, developing, guiding, goal setting, and performance reviews.
  • Manage staff and volunteer outreach opportunities and program information sessions that promote FareStart job training programs, increase referrals, and build sustainable relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with referral partners and affiliated agencies to support individuals enrolling into programs and provide access to necessary services.
  • Ensure up-to-date application materials and program information are accessible to applicants and organizations from diverse communities.
  • Track student demographic and referral data to improve outreach and support organization-wide data tracking.
  • Provide demographic and compliance data and analysis to grants managers for public and private grants.
  • Oversee and conduct intake interviews to gain insight into applicants' backgrounds and facilitate onboarding.
  • Facilitate applicants' access to resources for housing, healthcare, and other necessary services in collaboration with the case management team.
  • Ensure all student materials are inventoried, ordered, and distributed according to program needs.
  • Communicate applicant acceptance and enrollment to program teams and facilitate program orientations.
  • Manage the creation of detailed intake records and comprehensive notes to meet organizational and funder requirements.
  • Use a person-centered, trauma-informed approach when working with applicants.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social or human services, or related field.
  • Four or more years of related experience working with individuals facing barriers to employment.
  • Two or more years of experience managing and developing a team.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • One or more years of experience with case management.
  • Experience working directly with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of institutional and structural racism and its impact on underserved communities.
  • Understanding of community resources available to support those experiencing homelessness.
  • Experience in writing case notes and tracking client progress.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and customized databases.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with motivational interviewing.
  • Experience in employment and/or workforce development programs.
  • Ability to develop scalable systems as programs grow.
