About the position

The Integration Developer at Steampunk is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting complex integration networks, primarily focusing on REST APIs and various data sources. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in API development, operational analysis, and collaboration with business stakeholders to ensure effective integration solutions that meet client needs. The position emphasizes human-centered design and aims to empower employees to innovate and solve challenging problems in the federal contracting space.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical knowledge and analysis of specialized applications and operational environments.
  • Design REST APIs using the OpenAPI specification implemented on the Spring Boot and Camel open-source stack.
  • Visualize and translate business integration requirements into functional execution requirements.
  • Maintain consistency between Salesforce sandbox environments and manage deployments between them.
  • Negotiate, plan, and manage all release activities, including risk management and issue resolution.
  • Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time.
  • Communicate project plans, commitments, and changes to stakeholders and the business.
  • Conduct release readiness reviews and provide regular release reporting to stakeholders.
  • Work closely with development staff to resolve build problems and merge conflicts.
  • Document release issues and develop plans to improve processes or automation.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on information technology implementation experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a REST API Developer.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or equivalent.
  • Experienced Spring Boot and Camel Microservices Developer.
  • 2 to 3 years' experience with RDBMS technologies (e.g., Oracle, DB2, SQL Server).
  • Versed in security implements such as OAUTH2, OpenID, JWT.
  • Familiarity with API Gateways and authentication providers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience managing Salesforce integrations.
  • Understanding of overall SFDC architecture and integration approaches.
  • Experience with SAFe Agile development methodologies.
