About the position

The Interventional Radiology Technologist I position at Torrance Memorial Medical Center involves assisting the Radiologist in performing specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the Interventional Radiology department. The role emphasizes safety, patient care, and technical proficiency, ensuring a smooth workflow and adherence to protocols while maintaining a safe and clean working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Radiologist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in Interventional Radiology.
  • Demonstrate competence in the ALARA safety principle at all times.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and keep the work area clean and free of hazards.
  • Utilize Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS.
  • Answer technical inquiries from physicians or hospital personnel while maintaining good phone etiquette.
  • Maintain appropriate quantities of medical stock for the department.
  • Assist student technologists who may rotate through the department.
  • Transport and move patients post-procedure using appropriate body mechanics and safety precautions.
  • Prepare and administer intravenous contrast media under supervision of the radiologist.
  • Ensure patients understand post-procedural instructions and evaluate barriers to understanding.

Requirements

  • Graduate of AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT License for Radiologic Technologist.
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT).
  • Fluoroscopy License.
  • BCLS or ACLS Certification.
  • Knowledge of human anatomy.
  • Experience in the Department of Radiology.
