The Items Processing/Lock Box Clerk is responsible for efficiently handling daily operations within the Lock Box department, ensuring accurate processing of payments and providing excellent customer service. This role involves balancing transactions, correcting errors, and assisting in various tasks within the Deposit Operations department as needed.

  • Perform daily duties in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Provide internal and external customer service in person or by phone.
  • Process payments sent to the Lock Box department.
  • Correct any items that reject through Teller Capture.
  • Balance transactions transmitted from all branches.
  • Submit and process adjustment requests to Federal Reserve Bank and JPMorgan Chase Bank for check processing errors.
  • Work on Synapsys events for correcting applicable DDA items.
  • Process Check 21 transactions and manage Fed and JPMorgan Chase inclearing files.
  • Process mobile banking transactions.
  • Train and assist additional 4|Sight users.
  • Process Check 21 and City Bank Chargebacks.
  • Centralize, organize, and work all levies, comptroller freezes, and other liens received by the Bank.
  • Handle all subpoenas or grand jury requests.
  • Process incoming or outgoing without entry claims.
  • Conduct processing research requests.
  • Complete all duties of the Supervisor in their absence.
  • File checks and tickets from local branches.
  • Process all mail for postage from local branches.
  • Open mail and verify checks are correctly made out and signed.
  • Verify that payments are for the correct amounts of the bills being processed.
  • Participate in training sessions as required by the supervisor.
  • Assist in other Deposit Operations departments as needed.
  • Attention to detail is required.
  • Ability to provide suggestions to improve working conditions.
  • Experience in processing payments and handling customer service inquiries.
  • Experience with Check 21 processing.
  • Familiarity with mobile banking transactions.
  • Knowledge of handling subpoenas or grand jury requests.
