About the position
The Janitor position at Adams Place Independent Living involves maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents and staff. This role is part of the Environmental Services Team and focuses on preventive and property maintenance in a healthcare setting, ensuring that the facility remains welcoming and functional for all residents.
Responsibilities
- Perform monthly preventative maintenance tasks
- Replace HVAC filters as scheduled
- Clean and replace air diffusers as needed
- Replace ceiling tiles as necessary
- Change light bulbs in apartments and common areas
- Assist with move-in preparations
- Support full-time maintenance staff with various projects
- Pressure wash areas as needed
- Assist in pool and fountain maintenance as required
- Vacuum common area carpets weekly
- Clean carpets in apartments and common areas
- Maintain cleanliness of elevator floors
- Clean service hall floors
- Remove daily trash from common areas and trash rooms
- Clean and empty trash rooms daily
- Empty pet waste stations regularly
- Maintain exterior cleanliness by picking up trash
- Empty trash receptacles
- Clean sidewalk lamps
- Assist Activities and Dining with event setup and teardown
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 1 year of floor maintenance experience (marble, vinyl, carpet) is preferred
- Detail-oriented with the ability to complete tasks thoroughly
Nice-to-haves
- Training in maintenance is preferred
- Ability to work well as a team player
